David Slack

David has particular expertise in advising high-net-worth private clients and family offices and he also sits within the senior leadership team of Strutt & Parker.

Having started his career in Kent and London working for a couple of large national firms delivering estate management services for private clients and charitable institutions, David became Managing Director of the Yattendon Estate in West Berkshire. He ran a large multi-disciplinary estate featuring in-hand farming and forestry, large residential and commercial property portfolios, two pubs/hotels, post office, village stores, wholesale and retail Christmas tree business and a large commercial shoot. He then moved North with his family to take over the running of the Althorp Estate in Northamptonshire for Earl Spencer as Chief Executive and added the running of a stately home, gift shop, restaurant and museum to his growing list of knowledge and experience before joining Strutt & Parker.

Away from the office David enjoys driving steam trains on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Pickering, where he is a Director and Trustee. David is also active in his local Church as both a Churchwarden and member of the Choir. David is a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Farmers, has a passion for the family farms and upland landscapes of Northern England and enjoys all country pursuits as well as watching tennis and rugby.

David was awarded the British Empire Medal by the Queen in 2018 for voluntary service.
